Eleanor Hazell

Eleanor has BA hons in Development Studies from UEA, UK; worked for 3 years at WaterAid UK as a Community Fundraiser, working with community groups such as schools, student groups and choirs which raise money for WaterAid, gave presentations, arranged training, helped put together an in-house gender resource pack and wrote an article for Student British Medical Journal.

In January 2005 Eleanor moved to South Africa to study for an MA in Development Studies at UKZN Durban. She has been involved in this research project since August 2005 and is the lead researcher for the fieldwork in Umkhanyakude. Eleanor is currently analysing data, organising community report backs, as well as researching gender & water use for her own MA dissertation.
